Leona O'Keefe, MD
Dr. O'Keefe graduated with honors from the University of California at Davis with a degree in Neurology, Physiology and Behavior, and she is now married to her college sweetheart. She then went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed her family medicine residency training at the Ventura County Medical Center, nationally recognized for its quality, full spectrum training.
Dr. O'Keefe pursued medicine out of a desire to help those most in need. After completing her training, she and her family enjoyed two years working at a mission hospital in rural Nepal, where she learned the language and focused mostly on care for the Nepali women in both the clinic and hospital settings. Her favorite thing in medicine is walking with women through their pregnancy, delivery, and motherhood. She believes in caring for the physical, emotional, social and spiritual health of each of her patients, recognizing that these are all interconnected facets of our wellbeing. She thinks family medicine is the best because she gets to take care of the whole family!
Dr. O'Keefe enjoys sunshine, reading, baking and spending time with her husband and young boys. She and her family are excited to become part of the community of Grants Pass.
